About Us

Happy Medium Farm is a five acre site on the west slope of the Oregon Coast Range, in Lincoln County, Oregon. Since purchasing the land in 2020, I have been working to convert it from an overgrown patch of hay and invasive blackberry brambles to a productive small farm, growing vegetables, fruits, flowers, compost and more. From 2020 through 2024, this was very much a part-time effort, and frankly, it didn’t get very far. It turns out, when you cut blackberries back one day a month and let them grow for 29 days a month, they tend to get ahead of you. In 2025, I was able to put more time and money into the project, and that has resulted in new crops and projects, as well as this website.

The motto for the farm is “Food, Nature, Community”. Those are the driving motivations behind everything that I do on the farm: Grow great food, foster wildlife habitat, and support the community. In the links below, I will try to summarize our work on each of these segments, and all the little steps and projects underneath them.

Food: These are our current crops at the farm, and how we grow them
Nature: The farm is home to at least 54 species of birds
Community: Read about our community aid mission and our monthly local charity challenge.
